About the event

For those of you who have attended one of my events before, I am excited to share that I have been working on something extraordinary, I have recently completed a NeruoSomatic Intelligence Coaching Program, and after learning how powerful applied neurology tools and somatic work are together I knew I needed to incorporate these tools into the Somatic Breathwork events! These tools that you will learn will give you the power to hack your nervous system when in a state of dysregulation. Applied neurology tools are a way you can communicate directly with your nervous system to create a greater sense of safety while building your nervous system's capacity to regulate itself. 

In addition, after learning more about what trauma can do to our bodies and our brains, I realized certain breathwork patterns can be more harmful than supportive depending on the current state of your nervous system. I am excited and grateful that I can now implement these tools into breathwork to provide a more customizable experience for your nervous system needs! This sets you up for greater healing with results that last!

Somatic Breathwork™ is a unique approach to releasing stress, trauma, emotions, and pent-up energy from the body. It involves using your breath to shed layers of yourself that no longer serve you. Through a circular diaphragmatic breath, Somatic Breathwork™ taps into your body's innate intelligence to locate areas that need clearing. With the help of immersive music, this technique may result in various forms of emotional release such as laughing, moving, crying, yelling, and shaking. All forms of expression are encouraged, as they allow the body to move any stuck energy and create space for the second half of the breathwork session.

You can heal your mind and body by giving yourself permission to move stagnant energy. Suppressing your emotions causes not only psychological harm but also physical harm. Our emotions are energy, and they want to be expressed and move. When we numb ourselves, it takes up more energy from our nervous system and our bodies, than it does to allow ourselves to simply feel.

The state of our nervous systems affects how we show up in the world and our most intimate relationships. A dysregulated nervous system can cause us to become stuck in a sympathetic response (anxious, irritable, unable to sit still or rest) or in a parasympathetic response (lethargic, depressed, unmotivated) usually uncontrollably bouncing between the two states. However, a regulated nervous system allows us to choose which state we want to be in. By giving the body permission to move stagnant energy and finish a coping response, we signal our nervous system that the threat is over and it is safe to be present and relax.

In the second half of the session, a gentler breathing technique is used to help you connect with your true self. This technique encourages you to call inward your insights, dreams, and purpose. Together, we can use the breath to call in how you want to show up in the world and the changes you want to embody, allowing you to see clearly what it would be like to live your best life.
